I have a deskjet 2540 that i am trying to use as a redirected printer in a remote desktop session. I installed the same driver on both machines & made sure the name was the same on both machines. The printer shows up in the list of printers in the remote desktop session and i can print to it and it is listed as 'ready'. When i pull up the print queue on both machines i can see the print show up on the remote desktop side listed as printing and then disappears as it should. Then on the local machine in the print queue it shows up as printing, sits there for a minute, disappears, and shows back up immediately as printing and then disappears. Seems like normal behavior and everything looks to be working as it should, but i get no physical print from the printer. Suggestions?
Environment:
Local Machine - Dell Inspiron Laptop running windows XP pro with HP Deskjet 2540 attached via USB. Connected to internet through Verizon wireless jetpack, Cisco VPN established back to LAN to reach remote machine using Windows Remote Desktop
Remote machine - HP Pavillion Desktop running windows 7 Pro 32 Bit
