We are tested on a DR printer solution with Windows 2008 R2 SP1
We are thinking to install printer servers – PSA (192.168.1.1) and PSB (192.168.1.2). Both Sever installed same print queue name and driver.
All Client PC mapped to PSA.
In DR case, If PSA down, we plan to swap PSA IP address to PSB (192.168.1.1 -> 192.168.1.2), so that the client PC still able to using the same DNS name (PSA) and IP address (192.168.1.1) to print.
On our real test, client has no issue print to PSA. However on DR case , after swap PSA IP address to PSB (192.168.1.1), client PC able to ping PSA / 192.168.1.1, but
- Client PC A never print to PSA after last reboot – Able to print to DR print server
- Client PC B has print to PSA after last reboot – Not able to print to DR printer server unstill restart spooler service / reboot PC.
Anyone have any idea why it happen? Or any low cost DR print server solution?
