I have an office that has upgraded to Server 2008 R2 edition and at a remote location we are trying to redirect the printing to a local printer. So far in the remote desktop connection it shows the printer at the server location as a printer. But what we would like is to have the local printer at the remote location print from this remote session.
I have tried to install the canon mf5770 driver by adding a printer while in the remote desktop session....but the printer is not recognized at all. If I go to printer preferences, ports and look at what port it is redirecting to...it shows the ip of the local printer but it is not selected to print from that port and it is grayed out so that I cannot select it. Just wondering what I should do. The printer is a canon mf5770. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
